hello
I´ve built 2 identical Buffalo IIs with IVY,dual bipolar and one single placid
they´re both connected identical to the same pre in the same place with the same cables,the same spdif computer source,cable etc
one has a stable lock on the pc,the other looses it for an instant
the intervals varies a little but once a minute or so
the lock is lost for half a second or so and it relocks,but it´s really annoying
any ideas for cure?
the placids are adjusted according to the manuals
maybe I should swap just the dac pcbs and see what happens

sry I wasn´t clear about this:
BUT
they´re not connected simultaniously
however:
woke up and remembered I´ve had a similar problem earlier in one of your previous dac´s
they´re built in a wooden chassis with an aluminium backplate for connectors etc
I think I should take a wire from gnd somewhere in the circuit and connect it to the back plate which in turn is connected to GND on the power inlet.
as they´re set up now ,all the pcb´s have is an internal floating gnd connection
OR?

hello
it´s a similar pulse transformer to the ones that are on the MUX and it´s not interfering
it´s only an insurance against ground loops or dc on the input

BUT the most important thing is that my problem is solved:
I started to readress the spdif cable from the pc and haven´t had the problem since
the cable was placed between one of my 300B psu´s and a power conditioner and despite that it´s a factory teminated double shielded Belden cable from Bluejeans, it obviously picked something up, that interfered with the digital signal
both dacs are now operating as intended
thank God; I hate those periodic unexplainable silly problems, that can keep you occupied and frustrated for weeks!
