Is it possible to connect the output of buffalo 2 (gnd and +) to the to the unbalanced input of the passlabs B1 buffer ?

It certainly is, but you will want to be sure the D1 is setup for the high current swing.

Russ misread your question. The B1 is the PassDIY passive buffered preamp, but the D1 was the Pass Labs DAC with a discrete JFET output stage. He read D1 when you wrote B1, because the D1 is the more common question. The B1 is only a buffer with a volume control, and you can hook up any voltage output source to it, CD player, phono preamp, or the IVY III.
If you hook up the Buffalo DAC directly without the output stage, you would have to put a capacitor between it and the input to the B1 to block the DC on the output of the Buffalo II. I don't know if the Buffalo II would be able to drive your amplifier though, you probably want to use an active linestage if you are not going to use the IVY III, and use the IVY III if you can as it says in the manual.
