FYI, I received the Placid PS kit the other day and found both VR2 & VR4 in 10K value.

Brian,

Do you think a 500 ohm trimpot could be used in place of 200 ohm? That's all I have laying around. Thanks.

Yes it can. You will just have less really effective adjustment range, but it will work fine.
