Hi, I have one of the Buffalo II DAC's on order. I'd like to add a USB input module, but want the USB input to be handle to handle at least 24/96....what are my options?

No real advantage for hiface as the input goes through the buffalo asrc...

HiFace is very cute - just a bit to tiny for me to tweak :-)
I'm considering the SB Touch which should be able to do streaming of 24/96 files. A bit on the expensive side but way more elegant than having a computer in my living room.....
Not USB so sorry for the OT post.

We are looking into some options here, but I would think either option mentions should work fine.
The SB touch would be a solid option too.

Personally I think I'll get a Musiland. It may be technically inferior to the Hiface but it's more versatile (well the 01 US is anyway as it can be used as a portable DAC). I recommend buying from coolfungadet on eBay. He is very helpful and is active on the DIY forums.
I'm sure Russ & Brian will work their magic and implement a much better USB interface in the next few years as proper USB 2.0 Music Drivers become more established along with chips like VIA's new one, so I'm not willing to spend too much on something now.
Hopefully though, the next TP product will be the AC1! (hint hint ;) )

You could easily identify (in blind testing) which one was playing. Btw I've upgraded from the 01 to the HiFace and let's just say there is no turning back. The Musiland just sounds wrong now to me, especially in the higher frequencies.

Have you tried the latest "exact sample frequency" driver in the Musiland? I don't have a hiface or a buffalo yet, but there has to be a lot of truth to their claim of eliminating jitter or at least making it a relative non-issue.
