Would the RAKK i2s interface work on the Buffalo DAC? Im thinking this would allow for safer transport of the i2s signal from a modded player than a CAT5 cable. Or does Twisted Pear have something else brewing? ;)

I guess we could make something like that. There's nothing magic about it really; it's just a quad differential line driver. Should be easy to rig up on perf board if you want to try it out.
We could play with it. Should take about an hour to design something.

We actually have been discussing doing something like this for quite a while, but more for DSD than PCM.

Both would be very, very nice!! Maybe cabled using HDMI and with some kind of switch/mux on the Buffalo side...
