Hey folks,
I had my Buffalo 32S working with one LCBPS and one LCDPS with both a single ended TRS jack and balanced XLR jacks for outputs. (The input was a single TPA Toslink.) I recently recased it with another LCBPS in order to go mono-mono but now I get no sound at either output. I checked the voltages of all three power supplies at the PSU and at the boards. (I get +/- 15V for the bipolars and 5V for the digital supply.)
Any thoughts on trouble shooting steps?

(BTW, when I had it working previously, it sounded great but I thought I was getting some slight distortion at higher volume levels. Not sure if that's relevant or not.)

Hi, I will try to help you out if I can. A few pictures can really help. My initial thought is that a supply was possibly wired opposite polarity.

Do these help? (I checked the polarity of all the supplies and all three are fine. I also checked the wiring of the XLR jacks and they seem fine too (1=gnd, 2=+, 3=-). Is there a way to check the toslink?

Is it possible my toslink is bad? I've double checked the wiring and everything seems right. Not sure what else could be wrong. Is there a way to check the toslink?

Have you got anything with coax digi out? Maybe wire up a phono socket as a test?

What position is the SPDIF switch in?

I've tried it in both positions. But last time it worked, it was in the on position.

Finally had a chance to look at this again and i'm embarrassed to say, the third time I checked the wiring from the toslink to the buffalo, I realized the signal and ground were swapped. Oops... maybe I need to start using different colored wire. :) Here it is sitting on my totally cluttered Mac. (I've since cleaned it up a bit to make sure there's enough airflow.)
