Hi Russ,Brian,
In my Buffalo DAC with the follwing characteristics
VA - Placid 6.6v
VD - LCDPS 6.6v
IVY, powered by Placid 15v,-15v
Metro, MUX power by LCDPS
Metro, MUX etc I have this strange issue where the unbalanced outputwould sound fine even through close inspection with my HD580s but my XLR outs (properly connected) have loads of distortion. I tried 2 different IVY's with similar results but both were used so I ordered a new one for testing. What I'd like to know is do VA and VD need to share common GND? Any other thoughts for trouble shooting???
