Russ and Brian,
Sorry for posting another question which clearly goes beyond the "supported" use of your already excellent DAC.
I know that Buffalo 32S already has a great I/V stage and that there is no formal way (or reason) to test it with other I/V stages.
My question is the following: Would it be expected to work if I was to connect the Counterpoint input to the signal nodes of IC9 and IC12 on B32S and omitting power for the analog section?
Although I'm very tempted to get myself a second Buffalo 32S (for A/B comparisons) I would like to avoid doing something that I cannot handle undoing......
Nic
P.S. I'm sorry for the sickening thread on diyaudio but I think the absolute quality of the B32S is evident and emerging clearly whenever somebody is actually listening to it!
Keep up the good work and make AC1, Ballsie Lite and Placid available asap...... don't wait 4 1/2 years;-)

To use an external I/V you would have to remove the active components from the entire analog stage.

That means IC13/14 IC9/12 and IC10/11.

You would then need to take the output of the DAC at what was the input of IC9/12.

I definitely caution against it, but its yours to do with what you like. :)

No worries on the DIYAudio thread. I am actually finding it humorous, and actually gratifying that people who actually use the DAC seem to love it.

Cheers!
Russ
