That I don't have. The logo is from a scan I made of a doodle my wife did with a marker :).

Ah, that explains it ;-) No problem then, large JPEG is fine. I'll try to trace that image in Corel Draw (as best as I can) and upload the logo in vector form, if Brian permits.

The "vectorized" logo should be available in the attachment. I can upload other formats if needed. P.S.: I can trace the Buffalo too, but the image in the other thread is really low resolution. Brian, is anything better available? Edited by user Thursday, August 13, 2009 12:18:26 PM(UTC)

Pelliott, what's your intention with the logo? Most engraving facilities demand a vector file. I've provided other options (encapsulated postscript, corel draw and PNG image). If you want to play with a bit-mapped version, use the enclosed PNG image or import any of the vector files to your preferred graphical app. Edited by user Thursday, August 13, 2009 12:21:51 PM(UTC)

I may try to hand carve the logo into the front panel of the wood case I am building. I could always scan in your image and reduce it in photoshop, but a jpeg or tiff would be easier. The other choice would be to have a template professionally cut out of 1/8' aluminum to size and use a dremmel tool as a micro router to do the engraving. Another option is to use a decal product (I think 3M has it) and apply the decal then coat with a sealer, but the engraving/carving would be more elegant and the Buff32 deserves that, besides I like oil and wax as a finish on my wood projects.

Pelliott123, I don't really get why you want to scan any image and then resize. The enclosed PNG image (that's the pear image under attachment links, just right click on it and save it to your disk) is a better option than JPEG. First, it's a lossless format (similar to GIF), second it's very efficient for this type of image and supports transparency, so there is no white background around the pear and last PNG is compatible with 99% of graphical applications. I don't really get what's the problem here? Mind you, when my Buffalo32s ships and arrives (Brian, could you look at it? ) I plan to use an aluminum case in combination with wooden front plates. I'll use laser engraving or traditional CNC machine engraving if I want the 3D effect (but the laser is capable of finer details). There are quite a lot facilities nearby that offer both technologies and it's cheap. I don't think it's really worth doing it yourself by hand, the quality of the outcome is uncertain.
