Hi,
Hopefully someone can help with a possible problem.
According the manual I should cut the 'cut marks' at the output terminal blocks
when the buf32 is going to be connected to a pre-amp.
I did so but I measure 100K between OUT- and GND and OUT+ and GND. That is for
both channels. So is this wrong ? Will this influence the sound.
Although the buf32 sound is very very good I get the impression that there is a slight shift in balance to the left.
Measuring with a oscilloscope does not confirm this when I connect the buf32 (via spdif) to my computer and have 'Test tone generator'
send a 50hz or 1000Hz signal at 0db. Both channels show the same signal, approx. 2.0V
But when I play a cd of John Williams (the seville concert), some tracks sound louder from the left channel then from the right channel.
I am not sure that the guitar is recorded to be in the middle but on the other hand it is obvious to be so.
I have listened this cd on a Northstar cd and Northstar Dac combination and that gave a different sound presentation.
The guitar was well positioned in the middle.
Has anyone noticed this balance problem when listening to other cd's ?
The buf32 is V1.0 without thumpbuster,
Vd = 6V
Va = +15V and -15V
Agnd and Gnd are shortened

The output impedance is not measured from out to GND. Unless you have changed some R values "balance" of the output will be the "balance" of the input. :) The output impedance will be nearly zero with the output resistors shorted(default) and 22.1 ohms(or 21 ohms depending on which Rs where used this round, it not important which) with them active.
