Hello,

I´m powering a LCBPS with a 15V-0-15V transformer. When I apply the power, in a few seconds the R1, R2, R3 and R4 resistor run very hot (and i can see some smoke in them). What could be the problem. I´m not sure but i think the transformer has only one secondary with center tap.

Regards,
Francisco

That's the problem. You need a dual secondary transformer.

Thanks Brian.

I changed the transformer to a dual secondary but now I have two problems:

1) I get 15VDC positive supply without load but when I connect the supply to the buffalo DAC I can´t get more than 14.3VDC (no problem with Negative supply that get easily -15VDC when loaded). Moreover, when I look for VAC in the output with my multimeter I get .045VAC in the positive supply while I get a much better .001VAC in the negative supply.

2) Resistors in the positive supply are hotter than negative supply resistors.

Regards,
Francisco
