SPDIF or PCM connection between the MUX and Buffalo. What is best?

Hi All,
It is my understanding that I can choose between SPDIF and PCM formats in the connection between the MUX and the Buffalo DAC. What is better and are there any particular pros and cons? Another (partially unrelated) question: can I use a single transformator (9V + 9V, 30VA) to drive two LCDPS?

I would prefer PCM. Simply because the ES9008 handles it better in terms on initial DPLL lock. In all other ways the results should be identical. Yes you can drive multiple LCDPS from a single transformer. Just make sure you are not using more current than the transformer is rated for. Cheers! Hello everyone. I will require some help here. When I first received my Buffalo, I connnected it with IVY both supplies and SPDIF input dirrectly to the Buffalo. I chose not to connect the MUX yet. So I fliped the SPDIF switch on the Buffalo in the SPDIF position and everything worked well, with the lock led on.
Today, I decided to add the Mux. I wired the switch, made all connections and fired it up, does not work. Can not tell if the rotary switch is perfectly wired, but in one position of the switch, I have the lock led, on the Mux, coming on. That should be OK for now and suffice to have something at the output. Of course I did flip the SPDIF switch on the Buffalo out of SPDIF position. The Buffalo lock led does not come on any more in any position.
The only thing I did not connect between the Mux and Buffalo is the SPDIF out of the Mux to SPDIF in on Buffalo. I wanted to use I2S connection only and exit the SPDIF signal to a bnc connector ready for use with an other dac if wanted.
Where do I have to look now? Do I need to change position of some switches in SW1 on the Buffalo. I left these switches in the original position as Brian supplied me the Buffalo?

Can you detail your I2S connections between the MUX and the Buffalo?

MUX gnd, to Buffalo gnd.
MUX BCK, to Buffalo DCK.
MUX LRCK to Buffalo D1.
MUX OUT to Buffalo D2.

If you use the S/PDIF output from the MUX, do you get lock on the Buffalo?

OK, I did not get anything more at first, but when placing the SPDIF switch on Buffalo in the SPDIF position, I got locked.

Not easy, but I will see what I can do. In the mean time I will go around all my connections again. Is there anything I can measure from here?

I will leave for a while. I am stuck with Windows Vista that wants to install Service pack2. Got to close all programs and run the update. They could have chosen an other moment. I will be back.
