If one was to have a go at building a tube/transformer active I/V stage for the Sabre chip, fully balanced, what is the "optimum" resistive load for each +/- output.
I have read somewhere there is an operating point for this that gives the best distortion figures, and what would the voltage out this load gives - so I can calculate the gain structure.

You want the output of the DAC to see as close to 0-Ohms as possible.
If you can make the operating point AVVC/2(1.65V) then you will get optimal performance.
