I finished the upgrade and will try to get a set of measurements on the final box next week. https://cid-9798175bc4b3...ffalo%20Dac/P5164758.jpgSubjectively I would say it sounds just a little brigther than the Buffalo/IVY combo but even more crystal clear if that is possible. The heat sinks for the regulators on the LCBPS are getting really hot with this board. Is that normal? Cheers Thomas

I am seeing strange behavior with the coax input of the Buffalo32. I have a DIP 24/96 between my computer and the Buffalo32. When I turn off the computer I am getting spurious noises out of the DAC. The lock comes on and some noice comes out.
I used to have the same VD/GND on the old Buffalo and the S/PDIF muxer. Now I have this on seperate supplies from the LCDPS. I assume that is the problem. Since I have already connected the AGND and DGND for the Buffalo32 at the power supplies I wonder whether I also need to connect the two grounds of the LCDPS to get rid of this, I should use the same supply, or there is another explantion.

The two GNDs should be connected at the digital input of the BUF32. Try going direct to the BUF32. :) It likely something between the DAC and the source. My guess is the DIP 24/96. Edited by user Tuesday, May 19, 2009 5:55:17 AM(UTC)

Connected VA & VD grounds, cut output tracks to enable resistors, & run through properly-earthed circuit with other stereo gear.
Now works as perfectly as my ears can detect.
Very happy.

I wanted some space to accomodate a future hires USB board and the AC1 controller. Now it appears that I will also need a Ballsie light but I think it will all fit nicely.
