Hi

I recently purchased a Buffalo-IIIse Pro 28 as a replacement for my good old Buffalo-II. I kept the IVY-III i/v stage and the 5V power supply. So the setup was pretty straightforward and after connecting the new DAC to the SPDIF source, the LOCK LED lights up but there's no sound and the DAC remains dead silent.

I measure 1.3V, 3.3V and 3.3V across the Trident regulators but -0.48V (yes, negative!) on both AVCC-SR sides. I guess that's at least a bad sign. Any idea? I'm a bit lost as there was nothing that could go wrong...

Most common causes of no sound assuming everything is connected correctly:

1. No volumite/volume jumper attached

2. Incorrect dip switch settings - in particular note that 24 bit word length (which is prob. what you need) is not the default (as it is in the B-II)

see https://github.com/twist...SE-Pro-On-Board-Firmware for settings

PS You should be measuring 3.6V on the AVCC-SR outputs. Remove and retest with 5V in applied. Check correct seating and orientation.

What Possum said... test the AVCC module while not connected to the DAC.

Thank you Possum and Brian.

I have to confess that I was stupid enough to mount the AVCC-SR in reverse orientation. Fortunately the DAC board and the regulator survived...
