Had a previously working single stereo opus. Decided to upgrade to dual mono so bought another dac.

Have daisy chained all connection from recieved to opus one then two.

Also changed settings on both dacs as per manual.

No change made to reciever module

Powered both dacs from older lcdps set to 7.5 volts va and CD.

All lights come on green all for recieved. All power supply voltages check out

Power on ivy stage

but....
Both channels really quiet and also distorted. Both equally.
Tried switching OSR from 1 to open to 0. Gets slightly louder but still very distorted

It was previously working when using one dac in stereo mode.

Help appreciated as it driving me nuts

Will attach pictures once I have reduced their size

It is best to not daisy chain the I2S lines, but to run them direct from the Receiver to each DAC. I have seen trouble from that in the past, so I would start there.

Yes this worked both daCS making music.

One slight niggle ..I get a crackle sound both channels. Only when actually playing music from my SONOS port digital output. When I stop playing music there is no crackle sound. The louder i play the more pronounced the crackle. Although its still only a slight sound. BUT ENOUGH to be distracting.

I have both analogue outputs connections and digital connections mounted onto a piece of polycarbonate. I suspect this is slightly conductive as I had to place nylon washers on the connections to isolate them. I will post some picture. Monster case work made from aluminium billets weights about 20kg. completely mad but I have friend who uses tons of 20mm aluminium and CNC machines.

I maybe answering my own question . I should extend this isolation to the spidf input socket and see if this is the issue.

But if you have any other suggestions for curing this crackle would welcome them..

I did also buy a centaur power supply. Once I cure the crackle what would be my best option to use this. Both Dacs are running from the older dual supply LCDPS supplying both VA and VD sides. The SONOS Port runs from a Switched mode power plug in and runs at 12 volts approx 2 amps. My thinking either run both DACS VA from the centaur or leave them as is and power the SONOS from the centaur. Welcome your suggestion.
