Hey guys,

Got everything cased up, and feeding from usb>i2s>buff1.0>IVY. I get great sound out of the USB, and the buff goes from automute to lock really quickly when I turn either the buff or USB on. But, no sound comes out of the Buff (or the IVY).

I checked the output of the Buff, and with the volume cranked through the USB, I can hear a faint, high pitched 'white noise' - say around 10Khz, that oscillates (amplitude maybe?) in time with the beat(heard using a set of headphones).

I have the spdif jumper off, I have jumper 1 on '-' and 2-4 on '+'. I get no lock with jumper 1 on '+' or the spdif on.

I am feeding recommended volts to all involved from your reg boards.

any hints?

Michael

Further measurements from my DMM, VA and VD, both 6.55V.

When locked onto the opus, and music playing, I get between 1.05 and 1.08V between all buff outputs (V-to G, V+ to G, both chann). That is measured as is pictured above.

Oh, there are more photos uploaded in that album now - so just navigate through...

I buzzed out the I2S connection, to give more information...

Opus => Buff (ver 1.0)
GND => G (is also the braided and foil shielding)
LRCK => D1
SCK => DCK
BCK => D2

Any hints?

Michael

There is your problem. You need to take:

GND -> G
LRCK -> D1
BCK -> DCK
DOUT -> D2

SCK should be left unconnected. It is not used by the Buffalo.

Cheers!

taking into consideration it is V1.0...

GND -> G
LRCK -> D1
BCK -> D2
DOUT -> DCK

Very good! Glad to help. I did not notice the Buffalo version, but I am glad you caught it. :)

Cheers!
