Hi,
I've been using my B3SE DAC for several years. I recently moved and acquired a dedicated listening space that will double as HT. Now I'd like to merge my movie system with my 2 channel system without loss of fidelity. I'm pretty content with B3SE w/ volume control as my source and preamp for 2-channel. Is there a simple solution for HT bypass (balanced preferably) with Buffalo III SE DAC? I'm using pretty simple setup currently with Amanero -> DAC -> IVY. If I go this route, I'll probably go forward with the reclock/hermes update. Is there already a module for this or should I dust off my supressed electronics background?

I don't quite understand what you are looking for. Do you want to switch the Buffalo setup into and out of the HT system, or do you want to re-route source to either HT or Buffalo?

So I'm looking for a way to have a balanced analog input on the buffalo DAC that can be switched directly to the output using arduino signaling. This "theater bypass" bypasses the DAC completely but provides a mechanism that eliminates the need to swap cables or require the buffalo DAC outputs to go through a preamp/processor. I suppose this could be designed pretty easily with audio grade relays.

I think switching relays at the DAC output is the way to go.
Omron G6K work very well.
