I recently finished building my Buffalo II with tridents, IVY III and Anamero-Hermes-Cronus setup, but I experience some channel volume imbalance. The left channel is louder than the right channel.

I have checked the AVCC output voltages already, both are 3.xV so that seems fine.

Anything else I should check?

A lot louder, or slightly louder?

The x in 3.xV is important. For example, 3.2V and 3.6V is a significant difference.

Apart from that, you can try checking the output level directly at the DAC outputs and try to isolate the issue to the DAC or IVY.

On the IVY, you can double check that resistors values are all in the right places, and check wiring connections (by testing resistance) and double checking solder joints.

Well, I would say it's significantly louder.

One side of the AVCC measures 3.47V and the other side 3.48V.

To check the output level at the DAC's output, do I measure AC between OUT+ and GND or between OUT+ and OUT-? And should I use a test tone for it?

You could do that(or use an oscilloscope) - but I would check the parts first :)

I checked the DAC with an oscilloscope. The buffalo itself was fine, but in the left channel of the IVY something was going wrong. I think one of the opamps is installed the wrong way around.

Opamp

That's backwards alright. Did you buy it from us with pre-installed opamps?

I bought it as a kit from someone at diyAudio who decided not to use it.

It did come with the opamps pre-installed, he ordered the rest of the parts himself.

Do you think that the opamp is damaged because of this?

Otherwise I can desolder it and flip it around

Okay, I would like the replacement opamp. Thanks Brian!
