Hi

This is my first venture into computer audio and streaming, and I want to be sure I’m not about to make any fundamental errors before I starting buying stuff!

I’m thinking of buying an Amanero-Hermes-Cronus Combo with 45.1584/49.152MHz clocks to use with my Buffalo II. I thought I’d feed this from an Auralic Aries Mini. (The latter would be controlled by an iPad- which Id also have to buy- running the appropriate Lightening DS app, and connected to a network containing a NAS- an additional purchase.) The Aries has a “USB 2.0 High-Speed output for compatible DAC”, and is compatible with “PCM at 44.1Khz - 384Khz at 16 - 32bits and DSD64, DSD128, DSD256” so all seems good. But this is qualified by “'compatible DAC' means a DAC do not require a driver for Mac OS X”. Is this a problem/ irrelevance/ just evidence of my ignorance?

Thanks

Paul N

The Amanero does not require special drivers with MAC OSX, so this should work fine.
