Hi
I have one of the original buffalo dacs with the original ivy. The dac is working well. However, I put a scope on the balanced output today and find that there is a 2mhz signal at 15v.
Can anyone tell me if there would be an obvious solution?
Thank you

Hi.. Define "original". The very first Buffalo, like this? cut.jpg (43kb) downloaded 15 time(s).And this IVY ivy1.jpg (34kb) downloaded 14 time(s).Edited by user Friday, December 25, 2015 2:52:43 PM(UTC)

If so, how is your layout.
Stacked (over-under) or flat (side-by-side) ?

HI AVR
Thanks for your reply and assistance.
Yes those are the boards. My dac board s v1.1.
Ivy is stacked above the Dac. There is a Mux which is laid to the side of the other two.
The oscilloscope shows nothing on the dac board output when there's nothing input. However, there is definitely something on the output of the ivy.
Thank you
Aidan

Please check single ended out. Is that clean?

Hi
Just checked single ended out which is clean.
I also shorted the input to ivy and noticed that the output did change. There was something on the output but my scope couldn't measure it. Now that the dac input is reconnected the 2 MHz signal is back.
Very strange. Perhaps I should just buy an ivy 3?
Happy New Year
Aidan

Try increasing the distance between the dac and the Ivy. I remember having a noise issue. Cured it by changing to side by side layout and using shielded interconnect.
