With my Buffalo almost finished I started some tests and tried the notorious udial.wav test tone.

Normally I use this track to test whether I have a bit transparent playback path on my PC so I figure I check out what the resampler in the Buffalo does with it. The result is somewhat disappointing. Playing this on my Lavry DA10 gives me an absolutely black background. Using the Buffalo gives me pretty significant sirens in the background indicative of poor resampling. Beware that this clip can fry your tweeters so start with a low volume and then increase until you hear the low level noise.

Has anyone else tried this yet and gets the same result?

Cheers

Thomas

P.S.: Can anyone share some Audio Precision measurements of THD+N and DNR of their Buffalo/IVY combo?
