THe Benchmark sounds great but as buggy as hell. I want to get rid of it to accompany my Ncore amps. WHat spec should I build?

That really is up to you. Read the guide, decide what inputs you want and what setup appeals most to you. The whole system is highly modular, so you can even change it later on as your needs change.
