Will a Lundahl LL1674 1:4 step-up transformer work with the buffalo dac? Using a resitor to ground to convert the current to voltage.

Its already a voltage(about 3vpp at full scale) but with an output impedance of 195R and centered at AVCC/2 (which works out to 1.65VDC). Just work that information into your design.

Greetings, If the dac puts out 1.65v then I don't need the ivy if I plan on using a linestage!/? Thanks

No, you don't "need" it. But you will want it. One purpose of the IVY is to present a low impedance(almost zero) to the DAC as it will have better performance this way. The other purpose is to filter out of band noise and to convert the signal to single ended should you require that. It also has an extremely low output impedance which is better for driving the next stage. It can even drive headphones directly. Edited by user Saturday, February 28, 2009 4:57:24 PM(UTC)
