Hi, I just blew my Buff 3 SE with Trident regs by stupidly connecting +5.25V, -5.25V to the ps input instead of 5.5V, GND. All the LEDs light up but there is no sound.
Can you pls tell me what is likely to have blown, and what boards I should order to effect a repair?
Perhaps I can do a ps upgrade at same time as I have been using a +/- 317 type supply.
Thanks and best rgds, martin

...!
First thing to check, do you get a lock (lock led lit?)
Second, measure all the 3 Trident output voltages. You need to have 1.2v and 2 times 3.3v.
Third, measure the AVCC board. You need to have 2 times 3.3v
Careful, don't short due to probe slip.

1. lock LED is NOT lit 2. Trident output voltages all OK as above 3. AVCC 2 x 3.47V
many thanks for any advice if I can repair this, have been enjoying the DAC very much for several years now, I took it to my son's to demo and a wire pulled out of the ps GND terminal - I stuck it back in the negative end like an idiot.

I should have mentioned that the mute LED is lit. Sorry for abysmal ignorance - Cant find any reference to the function of mute and lock LEDs in the manual, still looking.

What's in front of the DAC? What's the input board? Edited by user Tuesday, July 28, 2015 3:53:27 PM(UTC)

No, the Amanero is powered via the usb / PC.

OK thanks Russ, so maybe the Buff3 survived (since all the voltages look OK) and I blew the Amanero? Maybe worth buying the TP usb receiver module?

I can heartily recommend the Cronus/Hermes-Amanero combo. :)

Looks great, unfortunately when I tried a direct SPDIF connection (from a Sony CD player) and removed the Amanero I still didn't get a lock or sound out. Put the switch in as per manual. Guess I'm in need of another B3 board :( Maybe the Amanero too. Think I will just go and sulk for a bit. Thanks for your responses.
