Hello, I am new on this thread.
Probably I am asking about an old matter but it is the first time for me I face this things.

I am planning to buy a Buffalo DAC and I would like to use the trafo I have already in hands so I can play with the budget in my hands.

Basically it will be a 2 channels stereo mode, like the BuffII.

The trafo I have in hands are the LL1544a by Lundahl, configured 1:1 with all the primaries and secondaries in series.
Finally I have 520 ohm of static resistance at the primary and this is the static resistance saw by the BuffDAC output. I charge the secondary by a 10K resistor.

If I load the BuffDAC by 2 resistors in the range 5-10ohm, center connected to GND, what's the final result of this chain? Is it a current mode set up?

If I don't load the BuffDAC outputs by the 2 5-10ohm resistors it will work in voltage mode ... 10520ohm against 197ohm. Right? Dinamically the 10Kohm of load are reflected to the priamary,

There is another chance, configure the trafo still in 1:1 but with the windings in parallel so to have 130ohm of static resistances; but in this case I loose a lot of mH and I will lose the bass responce.

.... really confused ... mainly because the trafo are not so familiar to me.

I read a lot about current mode and voltage mode but finally I don't know what's better.

If somebody has experimented something his help is really welcome.

Thanks.
