I see in the manual that to convert the AES input to SPDIF one jumps the 53ohm R7 resistor, but I noticed that R8 is 47ohms and R4-R6 on the SPDIF inputs are 75ohms. Should not R8 be changed to 75 ohms?

You can if you want, and in fact it is more correct. But in practice it is not required and you will still get fine results.

I had the felling that was going to be your answer, i figure since I am going true 75ohm impedance with BNC connectors and cable from Blue Jean Cable it would be proper to change out the resistor. I am not looking toward dealing with SM removal stuff but this is a good place to start with plenty of space to work with. I remember about reading that there is a special kit for removing surface mount stuff that I will have to search for. Question, is the builder of these board using lead free of standard solder?

I use leaded solder paste with no-clean flux.

That's what I plan to use but I know some manufactures use lead free solder when they assemble their boards. just curious if your boards do
