Juste checked an old post below that refers to checking the output of opus dac with meter and a set of old headphones.

I already tried this connecting headphone to output of opus dac. having read the post below I am now certain I have no audio output from the DAC.

Just to reiterate. The new transceiver you sent seems to be working fine. All lights on when they should be (when spdif connected)

The DAc however seems not in spite of checking input voltage OK and output of dac. with meter and headphones. No sensible voltage via meter or audio signal as indicated by headphones.

Anything else I should check. Or am I super unlucky to get another faulty unit.

I don't think there is a viable way to test the outputs with a multi-meter, but testing with headphones should work.

Can you post a picture showing your switch settings?

Checked dips and I had one wrong way.

Corrected this as per attached picture. and set as below for stereo

1
DSD(DM1)
0
DEEMPH(DM0)
0
MODE
0
IWO
1
DIFFHW
0
FSEL(MODE8X)
Open
MUTE
Open
OSR(RESETB)
Open

Then tried headphones attached to analog output of Opus. G then + then - on both balanced output. No sound what ever not even a sound when I disconnecting headphone connections which I thought I met get a click from any dc offset.

After I did above a I re-checked my headphones using same connections from the output a MP3 Player. Headphones definitely working. Measured 7.5 volts at VA, VD inputs so the unit is getting power.

Not a sausage I,m afraid from analogue output of DAC. All green lights on for transceiver.

Try checking the output of the two voltage regulators.

Measure VRD (3.3V) at the outer end of L1
Measure VRA (5.0V) at the outer end of L2.

If those measure correctly, then there is probably an issue with the chip itself.

Also, could you post some pictures of the bottom of the DAC, specifically the output cap and output header pins.

measured L1 at 3.25 volts

Measured L2 at 0 volts.

Also made sure that I was getting voltage from the dc connection pins so measured on the back of the PCB and down the track a little. (see attachment) OK got 7.5 volts.

Measured C14 and also got 7.5 v.

Does above indicate a faulty on board reg. ?

have attached pictures of underside of PCB.
