I am close to getting a Retro up and running and wonder two things.
When I setup the Placid current level, what should I be shooting for.
Currently I have an old Buffalo 32 in the digital side of my system, this drives my tube amps
in balanced out, and the self powered subs are run parallel in SE simply off the + and common of each side.
I suppose really there should be a BalSe running these but I tried the simple parallel setup and it seems to work just fine.
Will the Retro be happy doing this as well - and if not are BalSe still available as an add on for the subs.

I finally found the info on setting up the placid shunt and have the system running.
Sound is amazing.
Initially the gain was down some so I reduced the cartridge loads to 20R per leg ( in balanced mode ) for
the Talisman S
This helped, but I still needed a little more.
I also noticed that the balance was off some, so decided to adjust R13 down to 820R, and to implement a simple gain trim tried various
parallel resistors to equalize the balance.
I ended up with the 820R on one side and 910R with 24K = 876R on the other.
Any ideas as to why the gain difference, and yes I have swapped every cable and the Joshua side to side and its for sure in the Retro gain stages.
Is this actually much difference in gain side to side.
