I already have a IVY I/V but need another one and was thinking of just using the PCB and finetuning with newer OPAMPs and other resistors and caps.
I have looked through different opamps that has SOIC chassis and found LME49990 for replacing the OPA1632 and then THS4032 replacing LM4562.
Do you have any experince with those opamps and especially their sound compared to the original ones?

Well, the OPA1632 is a fully differential op-amp, so you cannot replace it with an LME49990. Check the datasheet again.
The LM4562 (aka LME49720) is newer and better (in my book, anyway) than the THS4032. There is a lot of flexibility as to what you can use in this position, however.

Does changing one opamp which performs its function within its specified parameters with another that does the same, really make any difference other than a psychological one?

Good point about the fully differential op-amp - funny when searching at TI that the OPA1632 is not listed among the fully differential however the headline says so.
So you still think that the used OPAMPs are the best sound quality that one can get?

I think it does, but you can't really quantify it. It's in the ear of the beholder. I can tell you that the sound does change for sure. Whether it's bad or good is up to you.

Not sure why people are so obsessed with the LME49990 (lots of HD no soul, but whatever...), the 1632 is a fine monolith. What would be nice though is a DIP socket so you could stick in a discrete equivalent.

No THS4521 would definitely not work in this circuit - check the supply voltage and current capabilities. It is still however a very good opamp none the less. :)
