Hi

Just ordering 402 Ohm Resistors to replace VR2 in the new Placid 2.1

Can anyone confirm if .25w are ok, or do they need to be bigger?

How to figure this out...

V=IR so I=V/R (current = voltage/resistance)

P=VI (power = voltage * current)

Replacing, we get P = V^2/R.

Measure the voltage across the trimmer. For this example, we'll say it's V volts.

Resistance is futile (oops), I mean 402-ohms.

So, Power = (V^2/402) watts.

You will then want to add a little fluff factor so the resistor is not running at it's rated Max, so double it and you will be happy.

I haven't even built it yet and i am not even installing the trimmer…

so can you just tell me what the voltage is across it in a standard setup with the legato? is 0.25w enough for that?

Yes, .25W is enough.

No, I cannot tell you the voltage, as it varies with the resistor value.
