I just finished my placid HD v2.1 build and while slowly bringing up the a/c voltage R1 and R2 are getting red hot at 90 volts or so I'am afraid to got any higher with the varaic and yes I am using the TP 15/15 transformer Edited by user Saturday, August 2, 2014 2:54:07 AM(UTC)

Check orientation of all components.
Check for shorts (solder bridges).
Then (if possible) post pictures of your creation, both front and backside including the connected wires from the transformer (colour coding).
