Goodday,

I received the last components for my Buffalo DAC. Just soldered everything together. But I get a -10 Volt from the single-end output from the IVY. After some measuring with my multimeter I can conclude that the buffalo short circuits. When I measure the resistance between the + and the - of the left terminal I get almost zero ohm.

I bought the Buffalo second hand. Any idea what can cause the failure?

Thanks in advance,
Fokko

Just messed up the board. Two pins of the ES9008 were connected, tried to seperate them.. But unfortuanlly messed up the pins.

Next question: When would be the buffalo availble again? And the ES9018 Buffalo with the counterpoint?

There are several pins on the ES9008 that are supposed to be bridged together. This is (was) not the problem.

It sounds like something happened to one of the opamps on the IVY (OPA1632 most likely).

This was the case. There was no IVY connected.

Any idea how I can test my IVY?

Ah, I thought you meant the outputs of the IVY. Is the Buffalo totally destroyed?

Please excuse me for my late response!

I can't take a clear picture at the moment, maby more luck with sunlight tomorrow.

If it is destroyed? I don't know. I don't have the skills to repair the solderwork, and if it would it isn't guaranteed that the buffalo will produce music :(
Maby there is a possibility that is send the buffalo back to you ? I will pay for the expenses ofcourse.
