Thanks: 1 times
Hello,

I am finally getting ready to build my 6 Channel DAC with 3 OPUSs (for 3 way active crossover setup). I have a MiniDSP USBStreamer (8 channels) that I plan to send I2S to the 3 OPUSs. I will be exclusively using a PC with JRiver to handle the crossovers and any processing.

My first question: Is there any reason for me to need a Metronome? If I do, would I need one Metronome for each OPUS? Or could I have the USBStreamer feed the Metronome and split 3 ways to the 3 OPUS?

Second Question: If not necessary, will a Metronome provide any benefit? Such as better Master Clock, flexibility with sample rates etc. (but I think I can adjust sample rates however I want with JRiver)

Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Doug Riedel
