I've got a remote controlled 100k linear pot that I'd like to use instead of the 5k part that comes as stock with the BIII.
Will the 100k work? Thanks!
Oik.

Ok, does anyone know if it will do any damage? I'm happy to try and see, but only if it's safe to do so.
Thank you :)

It will probably work, but it's not ideal. It won't do any harm. 5-10K is best.

It didn't really work. At maximum attenuation it caused the LEDs on the tridents to go out. At mid-attenuation the volume of music seemed to fluctuate up and down, and I quickly switched it all off.
I popped a 20k linear pot in its place, but that's a bit crap, too: all of the volume is at the far-clockwise end of the dial, making each little twist of the knob have a large effect on volume. It's pretty much unusable.
I guess I need to use a 5k after all!
Thanks for your input, Russ.
