I have been living with my B-III for some time now, and it`s sounding great. I will try to upload some pictures if I can get it right.

2X Placid Bp, and 2x Placid Hd. One of the Placid Hd`s are feeding Exa on the Usb 5v in. The 5v from the Pc through the Usb-cable is removed before Exa Usb in. It you are watching closely, you can se the red cables going to Exa`s usb terminal from the Placid Hd on the right side. It makes a guite remarkable improvement in sound quality when feeding Exa with clean Placid power.

The original caps is been replaced. Mundorf MLytic 22000uf on the Placid Bp`s , and 33000uf on the Placid Hd`s. Nice setup ! Could you give more information about your 5V powering mod on the exaU2I ?
And by the way, how do you manage grounding in this box of wood ?

Hi neofeed Here are two pictures. It shows the connection from Placid hd to Exa, and the other picture show the BIII. If you look up in the left corner, you will see the grounding wire goes from the aluplate and over to the shield on the powercable. I just solder it to the shielding on this cable. I forgot to mention that the grounding wire also is soldered to gnd on the iec socket. I guess you have already figured this out.

Hi neofeed
Two of the trafo's ( 18vac) is from RS-components, and the 9vac come from Digikey ( not 100% shure, but do a search on google and you will find )
I have also tried smaller trafo's ( 160vac) and you don't need any bigger to feed Placid Bp and Hd. I know, becouse I have tried out both in two different Buffalo dac's.

Well it was time to move on with my Buffalo IIIse. Bought 2 metal cases from Hifi -2000 in Italy, and here they are in the rack. ( Hegel P-30 preamp on top )

75 ohm s/pdif connector. Switch ( on the left side ) for switching between I2S- s/pdif. XLR connectors from Neutrik.  And the Powercase with Trafos and Placid BP`s
