Quote:IVY-III requires between one (and up to three) ±12-15VDC (bipolar) power supplies. Both our linear LCBPS and shunt-regulated Placid HD BP will work very well. We recommend the Placid HD BP set for ±15VDC for best performance, powered by a 15V+15V transformer.

Hi, Planning to use 4 IVY-III (3 to a 6 channel amp + 1 for headphones). Is 1 Placid HD BP enough to power all these ?
Thanks, neofeed

As per integration guide, the IVY3 consumes somewhere between 90-150mA. The Placid HD will do 500mA if not more (consider using the 2" heatsinks or mount the power transistors to the chassis/bottom) It might be possible though the 30VA stock tranny could the bottleneck. Personally I would go for 2 supplies. Edited by user Saturday, October 5, 2013 7:04:15 PM(UTC)

2 notes:
1) I am now shipping 2.5" heatsinks with the Placids.
2) I will have a 50VA version of the 15v transformer available in the next day or two.

2.5" heatsinks? Do they still fit inside a 2U enclosure with that height?

Thanks for your answers. Actually, I've just ordered a pair of LCBPS and one LCDPS as advised by Russ on diyaudio.
