I recently finished building an IVY III and I am not measuring any voltage on the SE or balanced outputs. The Placid is running about 15v on both rails with about 100mv of current. I also measure 15v on both rails on the IVY. Any troubleshooting advice would be appreciated. Edited by user Wednesday, August 21, 2013 7:08:58 PM(UTC)

Ehhh ?
Have you tested it with a Buffalo on top?
What is leading you to believe it not working?

Yes, I've tested it with the Buffalo on top and there is no sound out of the SE or balanced outputs. The DAC has lock and I've used it successfully with a legato so I am sure that the DAC isn't the issue.
When connected to the balanced outputs my speakers are silent while the DAC is on but when I turn off via a push switch there is an audible hum.

Do you get the same voltage at the two unused power terminal blocks?
It sounds like you might be missing some solder joints...
Maybe a photo of the bottom of the board as well would be helpful.

When applying power do you get a click from the (un)mute relay ?

Sorry, I was to quick. The relay only applies to the SE output.

Try increasing the current to the load on both rails and see if you get any output. Also what shunt current are you setting the Placid at?
Frankly, I have built so many TP kits and have learned that every time I have an issue after a build, it is something I have done incorrectly.

I get the same voltage on the unused power terminals. I have the Placid set for 15v on both rails and measure 115mv across tp vin and tp ccs which I believe is around the right amount of current (maybe a tad high). I also reflowed the solder joints and still am not getting any sound. Attached is a picture of the bottom of the board. Thanks for the help. 2-3 things to ask:
1. Is the +-15v supply stabil ? 2. Do you hear the click fron the mute relay when switching on ? 3. Have you tried the SE out (to rule out upstream problems) ?

I'm not sure what was wrong but after switching back in the legato to make sure the source wasn't the issue issue I got everything working.
Thank you all for your help. It sounds great as usual!

One last question. I have the Placid set at about 15v per rail and measure about 140mv across tp vin and tp css when connected to the IVY. Is this a proper css current? Edited by user Saturday, September 21, 2013 12:26:46 AM(UTC)

Measuring voltage between TP-VIN and TP-CCS shows total current supplied by PS. I forget what an IVY III pulls. Measure voltage at TP-OUT and TP-SHUNT to see if you are supplying enough current. Suggested shunt current is 50mA over what is needed to run the output board so you should adjust TP-OUT and TP-SHUNT for the positive and negative side to 50mV. That would be 50mV for positive side, 50mV for negative side. Shunting more current increases heat. Then measure tp vin and tp css and subtract your shunt amount to see what the board current requirements are. Edited by user Saturday, September 21, 2013 12:57:49 AM(UTC)
