i'm trying to retro-fit a BIII into a broken B32 build for a friend and need to clarify a few things before applying power.

the build has a SPDIF 4:1 MUX/Receiver with an off-board selector switch for Coaxial/USB/Optical via the VD/1/0/G header. stereo only.

-per the BIII integration Guide on pg.60, i only need to connect the four different outputs GND/BCK/LRCK/DOUT from the MUX/Receiver to the apropos BIII inputs at the DIN 1 header as detailed, and that the EXT_IO is not used since i will not be using the newer SPDIF-4 Input/Sidecar?

-only JPCM1-3 and J1-12 need jumpers?

-considering this is a newer BIII board with the new firmware upgrade, it's recommended to leave all DIP to ON except DIP5 on SW2 for SPDIF bypass which is set to OFF since i am sending PCM only directly?

-the SPDIF 4:1 MUX/Receiver has the DIP 2 set to "+" and the other three are in the middle/0. is this the best default for integrating with the BIII?

thanks!!!

everything sounds great, but i am unable to adjust L/R channel balance within the JRiver Media DSP Studio. it works fine with my Benchmark DAC1 though. it's not an intrinsic imbalanced within the B3/IVY3, but rather i hear better out of one ear than another and am much more sensitive to the imbalance when listening to headphones.

i can only assume that the data between the L/R that the B3 is receiving is unequal. any DIP adjustments i can make to allow the use of the DSP in JRMedia?

anyone?

thanks!
