Hi,

I'm new to DAC building I have a small electronic background, and I would like to build myself a 8ch DAC to be use with a DSP board...

My simple question is if I want a 8ch DAC with a volume control, and a display (if possible). Aside from the Buffalo III board and a supply board, do I need more modules???

Thank you
J-P

What output is used on the DSP? 8xSPDIF will not work on the BIII.

A basic shopping list can be found in the integration guide.

Thank's

So to make it clear to me, BIII wil mot accept 8 SPDIF channels only 4 stereo....

I intends to use a Najda board. it as I2S out but only 6 chanels witch is not enough, I see if there is a workaround....

That is correct. The ESS9018 will only accept 1 SPDIF input at a time. You need 4 BIIISEs + 4 IVYs for a setup like that, or 1 BIII, 4 IVYs and a DSP board with I2S or DSD. Depending on your timeframe there might be a multi-channel I/V stage available.

Do you have a approximation of the time frame for a multi-channel I/V stage??

No, Russ or Brian might know it.

Like many other things, we are working on it actively, but I would not guess a release date yet, other than to say it's not too far off.
