Hi
I built a dac for a friend with the following set up: USB receiver, dual mono OPUS Dac's. Powered by a good PS using about 8V. The amplifier is a high end tube amplifier.
And I have the following results:
"I compared the DAC with a Cambridge Audio mid-range DAC."
- The gain is similar - The medium frequencies, such as voice, seem to be saturated - The problem occurs on both channels - I didn’t test any other frequency ranges
Any ideas ?
Best regards Christoph

Way too little detail, and way too vague to give you much concrete guidance.
Are you using an output stage such as IVY-III?

Hi
Thanks for the message. No I did not use any output stage. No IVY-III. Just the USB receiver, then the two Opus-Dacs going directly to the integrated amp.
What info do you need ? I hope that Pascal will chime in as well (the dac is running on his equipment)
Thanks and best regards Christoph

hi there,
this is Pascal who owns the dac. Please advice on any measurements I could take or any suggestions that would help us to figure out the issue.
Thanks for your help
cheers

I picture of your DAC/amp would probably be helpful.
What is the input impedance of the amplifier?
Are you using the output caps on the Opus DACs?
Are you using the balanced connections between the DAC and amp?
