Russ and Brian,
I've got a setup that I'm looking to go Dual Mono Buff III se. I am wonder what the best way to feed an SPDIF signal to both Buff III's is?
Do I just feed both units off of the RCA jack? Should I use some other module that will distribute the signal?

I'm thinking you can just Y off your SPDIF input and connect directly to each DAC board since the BIIISE allows direct connection of SPDIF/I2S inputs. That is similar to what folks do with the 4 channel input board and Sidecar with dual mono BIII's; Y off the input board or Sidecar to each DAC board. Even though it isn't I2S, I'd keep each SPDIF lead near the same length (I2S is fussy about total length and each wire being even length). If using wires twist them together. You could do that, but I would personally recommend you try the stereo setup first. :)

Use PCM or DSD if possible. :)
If not then you will just need to split the spdif signal.

Hi Russ, thanks for reply...but how ;-)
I have waveio card which has u.fl sockets. Do I need to just daisy chain the 2 dac boards (ie hop from waveio to one dac board and then onto another)? Or, do I need to split the feed at the waveio and use same length cables?
I'm sure I could build 4 x U.FL Y cables to split the signal from the waveio but I'm wondering whether my theory is right...I suppose what I'm saying is, do I need to worry about length etc of cables (in the same way I would when building speaker cables) or do the DAC chips keep in synch because one dac is effectively a slave to the other?

They will be in synch because they share the same clock and data. :)
I would wire ufl to the first DAC then plain hookup wire from one DAC to the next. Just keep them as close as you can.
The other option would be to build a little 1:2 repeater, but that is really not necessary.
In short. Its up to you! :)
