I'd like to feed the board with a Placid supply (not HD, old one) but found no indication for current, just 7.5 VDC for voltage.

Even without that information the basic procedure is simple: set the output voltage, and set output current to fi. 50mA. Hook up the load, and slowly increase output current till you reach approx. 50mA of shunt current.

The current draw of the module is <50mA. Closer to 20mA in normal situations.
