If you shorted the controller supply voltage to ground (via the external switch) you probably killed that regulator. Is it still good?
You can check that the controller is at least partially working by monitoring the I2C signal.

I don't know if this is part of the issue:
I have the mux B3_SPDIF_4, when mounted I left two 75 ohms inputs for S/PDIF, one used for CEC TL1 CD transport & connected the Xmos USB-S/PDIF to the other free input 75 ohms but the mux switch don't selected the S/PDIF coming from Xmos so I disconnected the used 75 ohms input to connect the Xmos S/PDIF output & plays, it's the first time that I used the mux because never tried.

You can test if the firmware chip is dead by removing the volume pot jumper (PB4 to 3.3V). If you remove it and still have full output, your firmware chip is not functioning.
After that, you can measure the voltage on the same pads, from 3.3V to GND to see if the onboard vreg is still functioning.

That won't work. You can only pull the input pin to ground once. If you wish to control configuration switches off-board you need to set the corresponding on-board DIP switch to OFF.

Actually connecting the middle pin to GND pin would be better (because otherwise it is floating). That should result in near silence. -63.5db

I mean connect PB4 (volume control) to GND. That is the same as having a volume pot turned all the way down.

It is really just a test to see if the controller is sending anything to the DAC.
Is the address jumper shorted?

I'm not sure if it's the right answer but with the jumper installed between GND & middle point PB4, selector switch still don't operate & always I have signal on the scope. Edited by user Tuesday, December 11, 2012 7:52:05 PM(UTC)

The chip has come with the firmware. I attach two pics with oscilloscope shoots with a signal of 1 kHz to 0 dBs FS, the oscilloscopeis set in the range of 1 V/cm, it seems that the balanced signal is mas sluggishly(weakly) that the signal single end, it is correct this? 4-Channel S/PDIF (or AES-EBU) Level Converter Kit isn't working, I have two spdif with 75 ohms resistor: one for the CD transport & one for the Xmos usb-spdif, only works CD transport in all inputs & the CD transport is connected only in one input.
