If each output terminal is loaded with the same 100R load and they are equal amplitude then the DAC itself is operating correctly.

You may have a problem with your Legato. What the the DC voltage across each I/V resistor on the legato?

Good news, I'm afraid was the BIII.

I will measure the DC voltage across Legato I/V resistor, are R1-R2-R3-R4 right?

Earlier you said you measured the DAC directly and all of the outputs were equal... What are you saying now?

Legato SE outputs 1kHz 0dB Fs square wave like the balanced measured before

I don't understand why with the same signal the SE outputs measures 1.7V pp & balanced outputs mesures 0.8Vpp

Legato SE output sine wave 1kHz 0dB using I2S input

[IMG]...ck.us

Legato SE output sine wave 1kHz 0dB using S/PDIF

[IMG]...ck.us

Scope set to 0.5V/cm: using I2S B3 input: Legato SE output 1Vpp, using S/PDIF B3 input: Legato SE output 2V

N.B. S/DIF pic isn't moved it's the signal moving

I am not sure what you are looking for...

if the amplitude between the two sources is different the first thing to check is the actual digital signals.

How do do you have the "re-map inputs" switch set?

The ampltude between the two sources is the same: I used Lorien X-Mos usb-i2s that have S/PDIF & I2S outputs, but also when you eard music is clear S/PDIF sounds much louder.

The questions that I need answer are:

-What's the output VRMS at the Legato single end output using I2S? because I measured only 1VRMS, it's OK with 1kHz 0dB? Legato manual saids: The output voltage at 0dbfs is about 1.5VRMS.

-What's the output VRMS at the Legato balanced output with a signal 0dBfs?

Really appreciate your help.

If the PCM is verified identical (not just should be) the only thing I can think of that would cause that is that one of the PCM data channels is not connected - or possibly the B3 firmware is not working?

With the switch setting you show above if you have the controller with standard firmware installed SPDIF should not work at all. Because you have SPDIF auto-detect set to bypass. (SW2-5)

I have installed the external switch to activate or desactivate the auto-detect S/PDIF, with this switch I do the test between I2S & S/PDIF

That's interesting, but the DIP switch is closed, which would always override your panel switch.

I suspect your firmware is not doing anything...
