Hi all,
Today was the first time I tried the Ventus Headphone Amp with serious headphones. I tried several but they seem to overboost.
With the volume at approx. 50% no loud sound is comming out but it seems quite ok. If I increase the volume a little bit it makes a sound like the recording was over squelched or something like that.
I did not installed the CC2 and CC3 Caps.
Before I go to troubleshooting and dismantling evrything; Can someone say something about this?
Thanks in advance!
Jordo

I checked the connections and they are all ok. I also added CC2 and CC3 to the boards. Still this makes no difference. The sound is overboosted certainly at more than 50% volume. And the channels left and right keep swapping on and off. Again more with the volume above 50%. Does someone have a proper hookup sceme for the ventus EZ? Does the IN- and the ground need to be jumped just like the Ventus? Since the headphone jack only got one ground, do they share the same ground? I now connected the grounds together on the jack and they go back to each seperate Ventus... I'm not sure if I'm doing it right here.... Thx, Jordo Jordo attached the following image(s): Ventus Hookup.jpg (68kb) downloaded 21 time(s).You cannot view/download attachments. Try to login or register.

Ok, I just used some normal wires, no shielded cables and no twisted pairs.
There is a 'hum' to be heard and also some crackling sound but it certainly improved.
