Hi all, I was wondering the following: I have two HD Placids for my dual mono setup. The LH Placid has the DAC with 440mA, the S/Pdif Torx module with (?? mA) and the selector of the 4:1 MUX 20 mA (plus one LED connected). The RH Placid has the DAC with 440 mA, the 4:1 Mux with 30 mA and the Sidecar with 65mA connected. Added this must draw a current of 535 mA. I have installed larger coolers of 2". If I want to connect a Teleporter Module this requires another 150 mA on top of the demand of one of the Placids. In the Integration Guide the're talking more about the max temperature rather than a max current. Do you think the Teleporter can be connected to one of the Placids or will this be too much? Thanks in advance! Jordo Jordo attached the following image(s): IMG_7380.gif (230kb) downloaded 38 time(s).You cannot view/download attachments. Try to login or register.

It should be able to handle it. As long as you keep the shunt current reasonable.

Hi Russ,
Thanks for the reply!
I have the shunt currents adjusted to the prescribed 50-60 mA. These can be maintained?
Thx,
Jordo

I have dine some quick calculations, and it seems perfectly reasonable to me as long as the input voltage is within range. But what is the the input voltage?

I have the Placid HD's adjusted to the reccomended 5,25VDC. The Placid's have an imput voltage of 9VAC. Edited by user Saturday, October 20, 2012 10:00:27 AM(UTC)

Sound good to me. But ensure that you have adequate ventilation. No fans should be needed, but slots in the top and bottom are wise.

Ok thank you,
I think I will be good. I bought the extra ventilated cover a vew weeks ago because I thought it was all running a bit hotter with the new furniture.
The temperature in the casing is around 35 degrees celcius right now with an ambient temp. of 19 deg.
If I hang one DAC and one teleporter to one Placid these will draw 150 + 440= 590mA. The other Placid will have to deal with the rest of the components which draw a 555 mA.
Thanks for giving me the assurance!
Jordo
