Simple question from amateur dac constructor. Someone please help! The ivy and the Legato says it can be powered from 1 to 3 placids. Is it possible to use two placids ( and two toroids )? Ie only use pwr1 and pwr2. any switches to be fiddled with or is it okay out of the box? Im intending to use both the bal and se outputs. best, Edited by user Friday, January 28, 2011 10:48:44 AM(UTC)

Do you mean, to power the two I/V channels but not the Bal-SE converter section? Or to power the I/V channels from one supply and the bal->se from the other?

Hi Thanx for quick reply!
I was thinking to use one power for each I/V channel. but I now figure that the bal-se converter will be unpowered and not work? is this correct?
will your last suggestion work, by the way?
best,

It can be configured to work either way. J1-J4 are jumpers to optionally connect the various power jumpers to the various stages. You can leave bal->se unpowered if you would like. The jumpers are pretty easy to figure out.

amateur here as well. Not quite sure what to do with J1-J4. I'm powering Ivy with 1 Placid HD BP. I want to use balanced and se outputs. Can someone point me to the right direction? Ok, I got it, if single power, then just solder the 0 Ohm jumpers from the kit. Edited by user Wednesday, September 19, 2012 3:29:05 AM(UTC)
