This is currently where I am with my BIII project. The question I have is - is there an issue with the distance of the S/PDIF Switcher Board to the BIII? If needed, I could switch places with the IVY boards and S/PDIF Siwtcher board. The acrylic back panel is only temporary and is used as a placeholder for the final panel, which will be metal. Any other electrical design-related questions are appreciated!

It could be. I would have made the layout differently:
- put the DAC right behind the input module.
- Stack 2 IVY's left and 2 right of the DAC
This shortens all critical wiring considerably, and should be possible with your enclosure.

There's actually a 5th IVY board, in order to do 2-channel out as well. But I will take this into consideration - it's not too late to change my design! Thanks for the input.

Anyone have a suggestion for a good hookup wire to use for digital signals? I'm at the hookup stage now; I figured I would use a decent insulated silver-plated or silver wire, but not more expensive than ~$2/ft.

Welborne Labs has silver plated copper Teflon insulated hookup wire in 24 gauge (stranded) for $1.25 a foot. Not sure about frontpanelexpress. I kinda of wanted to do a panel that had some angles to it... like this for example: http://imgur.com/pn2FA Only problem is I don't know where I can get that done. That's the dCS Debussy DAC. Really neat front panel design if you ask me. The added bonus to this project is that some friends and I are developing a controller board with OLED display, which will unlock all controls for the BIII DAC, based on the ESS DAC chip. :)
