Buffalo III in stereo mode with single SPDIF converter (75 ohm). Using spdif out from M-Audio Delta 1010. Lock and mute leds both lit, no sound
Delta 1010 SPDIF out works fine when connected to my other DAC (Wadia 860). My other sound card (Delta FW410) works fine with the Buffalo III.

Delta1010 manual specs digital out as .5v peak-to-peak, AES/EBU data format over SPDIF coaxial.

Any Ideas?

Thanks, Mike

There is not really any way for us to know what is different about that particular source.

What would cause the mute to be on?

I don't know... How could I? I can merely guess... Usually this is because there is silence below the auto-mute signal threshold lasting longer then the auto-mute time threshold. But since both are set to their extents I would ask the maker of the source.

Have you checked the integrity of the signal?

I'm sorry if I have offended you. The signal works fine when sent to my other DAC. This is not much help.

Ok, thanks for your response. I guess SPDIF is not that important anyway. The main reason that I purchased the Delta 1010 Is because I heard that you could access i2s signals from the pinouts. I've not found any schematic on the pinouts and don't know if it will work but, Hey This is DIY!
